Game Unit: The Adventures of Jayden and JordanWe began with a jungle idea and expanded from there, thinking of ways to connect other environments and a story. Planning the game was my favorite part, when we were brainstorming ideas. I think that if we had more time we would connect everything together better, including the backstory and the levels.

PhenakistoscopeA Phenakistoscope is device that makes a collection of pictures appear as if they're moving. A loop is a series of pictures put together and played over and over again from the beginning. I like flip book it seems interesting to be able to turn the corner of pages in a book and create a story. I think that making a phenakistoscope was hard, I am what some would call a perfectionist so it was hard for me not to change something if it is not exactly how I want it.

Color TheoryI used blue, purple, and yellow in an attempt at split complementary for this project. I don't think the color theory fully goes with the figure in the picture, but I think it partially does. I used tints, like in the hair, and tones, like in the shirt, to create this project. I think that line is the strongest element of art in this project.

Photo UnitThe top photo is a silhouette and the bottom photo is a sepia. I liked the way they both came out, I thought looked the silhouette looked interesting as well as the sepia. In the top image(silhouette) I thought that shape is the strongest and in the bottom photo(sepia) I think that texture is the strongest element of art, because of the angle the grass is at. I think that learning different ways that artists use techniques that we are using all the time.

SnalligatorI used an alligator and a snail to create my critter collage. Using the shell, the eyes, and part of the body of the snail, as well as the head and tail of the alligator. I used mostly the stamp tool, eraser tool, and polygon and lasso tools to create my critter. I think that texture and space are the two strongest elements in my critter. I think that the strongest principles in mine are contrast and unity. At first I was extremely confused on what I what I wanted to do, but quickly decided.

TessellationThis is my tessellation project, I feel that the strongest element is line and the strongest principle is pattern. I think that making a tessellation on the computer is much easier than doing it on traditional paper. If you do it on paper there is a lot of repetition with the pencil lines, but on the computer there is a lot of copy and paste. I really enjoyed making these although I was at a loss on what to do for a period of time.

Fontbot ProjectFor my fontbot I used a sans serif font called Skia. I would like to think that my fontbot matches the font I choose to make it out of. I found the process of making the fontbot interesting, at first I was continuously stumped on how to make my fontbot and kept on making different combinations trying to make it work. Then, at one point one thing went together, then another and my fontbot was born.

Square 1 Art ProjectI thoroughly enjoyed the making this project, I did a positive/negative (high contrast) project. I began making the building outlines first. Then, I added the top and circular portion of the key with the black background and gradient, and done. I think that the strongest element I used is line I believe that played a huge role in this project, as well as the principle balance. I did like the tablet a little, although it was extremely frustrating for me.

Laurel Duplessis Laurel Duplessis was many different things to many different people. She was born on July 19, 1939 in the Bronx, New York and passed February 8, 2013 in Hampton, Virginia. She was and interesting artist in my opinion with many different ideas to offer to the world. My mother knew her and became friends with her, she painted a gift for my mother when she was pregnant with me. My mother framed the picture and it is still hanging in our house to this day.
